SensesThe senses allow us and other animals to perceive the outside world. In general, it is an ability of humans and animals to receive certain types of information from the environment - such as the presence of light, chemicals or waves in the surrounding air. This external information is usually received and processed by the relevant specialized organs, the so-called sensory system. The degree of sensory system development then corresponds in a particular biological species to its way of life and its needs. The cave macarate, for example, does not see (did note developed eyesight) at all (lives in the dark in a cave) and dogs have a well-developed sense of smell. Think in the group - with which sense we (we humans) perceive the most information, or what about other biological species? Do you know what types of receptors the given senses allow and on what principle they work? |
